Why Newcastle have shown interest in Amario Cozier-Duberry

Cozier-Duberry has been tipped for a big future and compared to Buyako Saka. On Arsenal’s website, a description of the player reads: “Amario starred at both U21 and U18 level last season, making vital contributions in our run to the FA Youth Cup final.

“The winger’s impressive form was rewarded with first-team involvement, as he came off the bench at Emirates Stadium in our friendly with Juventus in December 2022.

“The England youth international was regularly on the bench for us in the Premier League last season, and was part of the touring squad to the United States in 2023, featuring in the second half of our win over Barcelona in Los Angeles.”

Meanwhile, Arsenal under-18s manager Jack Wilshere previously told The Athletic: “Amario is very exciting and Mikel [Arteta] likes him. “He reminds me of Bukayo Saka, plays in the same position as him, needs to get better with his decision-making like Bukayo did, but he’s definitely exciting.

“In some moments he’s unplayable. You give him the ball and he can make things happen. You can set up a team and have a game plan, but when you’ve got individuals like that you’ve got a chance.”
