New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to two of Newcastle’s restaurants, cafes or canteens, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.

Silver Dragon, at 1 Bentinck Crescent, Newcastle Upon Tyne was handed a four-out-of-five rating after assessment on February 22.

And Wai Ho Gosforth, at 222 High Street, Gosforth, Newcastle Upon Tyne was given a score of three on February 22.

It means that of Newcastle's 665 restaurants, cafes and canteens with ratings, 485 (73%) have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.
