Throughout the course of Newcastle United’s history, whether in good times or bad, goalscorers have been ever-present. None were as good as Alan Shearer.
Hughie Gallacher may have a claim to that throne as the last man to lead the Magpies to league glory. Or Jackie Milburn, the iconic Ashington bagsman who secured three FA Cup titles in the 1950s.
Shearer may not have the silverware to boot but his 206 goals in black-and-white stripes is golden - and a club record. While Newcastle have mainly been fighting relegation - recent years aside - since his retirement, they have still boasted several top-level strikers.
But who ranks as the best? NewcastleWorld has ranked the best 10 strikers since Shearer’s retirement 18 years ago.
