Newcastle United’s Premier League fixture list in full including ‘dream’ start, Boxing Day and ‘tasty’ final day

Newcastle United will face Southampton at home on the opening day of the 2024-25 Premier League season.

Eddie Howe has been given the ideal start to get the new campaign off to a flyer following an underwhelming 2023-24. Most people view Champions League football as the goal - especially with no European distractions after cruelly missing out on qualification last time out.

The Magpies welcome Southampton to Tyneside who are de facto the lowest-ranked team in the division. Russell Martin’s men earned promotion via the play-offs last year, with former Toon academy product Adam Armstrong bagging the winner.

The opening fixtures are rounded off with Bournemouth (A), Tottenham Hotspur (H), Wolverhampton Wanderers (A), Fulham (A) and Manchester City (H). From these five games, Newcastle picked up seven points last season.

Other key dates include Boxing Day, where the Magpies are set to welcome Aston Villa to St James’ Park. Newcastle managed the double over the Premier League’s surprise package - who earned Champions League qualification - last year. 

Howe’s side will travel to top-flight new boys Ipswich Town on December 21 - a fixture that has not been played in the Premier League since 2001. A slight concern will be May, with Newcastle having a difficult run-in on paper.

While Everton (H) takes place on the final day, that comes after Brighton (A), Chelsea (H) and Arsenal (A). Obviously, these dates are not set in stone due to TV scheduling and cup competitions potentially skewering the schedule.
