Newcastle United are set to tour Japan ahead of the 2024-25 Premier League campaign

Newcastle United supporters are quietly confident about Bruno Guimaraes’ future after spotting him on the promotional poster for the club’s Japanese tour.

The Magpies confirmed the open secret that they will prepare for the 2024-25 campaign in East Asia. Eddie Howe’s men will take on seasoned opposition including Urawa Red Diamonds - the 2022 AFC Champions League winners - at the 63,700-capacity Saitama Stadium.

Newcastle will also face Yokohama F. Marinos two weeks before the Premier League campaign kicks off. This is the first time the Magpies have travelled to Asia since 2019 when  Steve Bruce’s side challenged rival top-flight clubs West Ham United and Wolverhampton Wanderers in China.

Toon supporters will be hoping to catch a glimpse of potential new arrivals in a slick Adidas kit ahead of the new campaign. Howe said about the trip: "We are pleased to be visiting Japan this summer. It's an amazing country and it will be a unique experience for our players, staff and supporters.

"We will be taking on two strong teams at two special stadiums. I'm sure they will present the type of physical tests we need at that time as we build towards next season."

Eagle-eyed Newcastle fans are already feeling confident about the trip after spotting Guimaraes in the promotional artwork. Reports have claimed the Brazilian could be on the move for £100million - his release clause until June 30.

Manchester City and Arsenal are rival Premier League clubs linked with a summer swoop for Guimaraes. He appears on the poster alongside teammates Alexander Isak and Anthony Gordon.
