Lucas De Bolle is one of several players leaving Newcastle United at the end of this week.

De Bolle, who was born in Scotland to a Belgian father and an English mother, has been on the books at Newcastle since 2015 but will officially become a free agent when his contract expires on June 30.

While the 21-year-old failed to make a competitive first-team appearance, he did appear in a handful of friendlies - his last being the heavy defeat to the A-League All Stars in Australia last month.

Having previously spent the 2022-23 season on loan at Scottish club Hamilton Academical, De Bolle saw a surprise move to Dutch side Feyenoord fall through last summer.

He spent the majority of last season with the under-21s, although was called up to Newcastle’s squad for their Champions League defeat away to Borussia Dortmund

Ahead of his official exit on Sunday, De Bolle has taken to Instagram to post a series of images from his time at Newcastle along with the caption: “After nine years my time at Newcastle has come to an end. Since joining the club in 2015 I’ve had so many great memories representing the club.

“Wanted to thank all the staff, players and fans that have helped and supported me throughout my journey.”
