Newcastle United dealt fresh injury concern during Al-Hilal friendly

The Newcastle United striker was withdrawn midway through the first half against Al-Hilal.

Newcastle United have a fresh injury concern after Chris Wood limped off during the friendly against Al-Hilal.

The New Zealand striker was withdrawn on 38 minutes after receiving on-field treatment. Sean Longstaff replaced him with Allan Saint-Maximin moving into the No.9 role.

Wood is the only senior striker available to Eddie Howe at present, with Callum Wilson at the World Cup and Alexander Isak still recovering from a thigh injury.
