Newcastle United will already be preparing for next season as they look to go one better in their bid to qualify for Europe again. Eddie Howe will want more reinforcements this summer in a bid to improve on the efforts of the last campaign, although he also knows he has Sandro Tonali to come back into the frame next season. Arsenal change plans

Arsenal will reportedly consider making a player-plus-cash deal for Newcastle star Bruno Guimaraes this summer as they continue to struggle to meet the Magpies’ reported £100million valuation. FootballTransfers claim the Gunners still want to sign Guimaraes having struggled to get a response from Real Sociedad over Spain international Martin Zubimendi.

It’s reported players like Oleksandr Zinchenko, Emile Smith Rowe, Albert Sambi Lokonga, Eddie Nketiah and Thomas Partey could be considered to be included in a swap deal. Newcastle could do with the cash upfront given their PSR concerns, but if they truly are struggling to meet requirements, some sort of deal may be better than none at all, especially if they want to spend this summer.

Gibbs-White claim

Newcastle could be ‘favourites’ to land Nottingham Forest man Morgan Gibbs-White this summer, according to journalist Dean Jones. He told GiveMeSport: “Doubt continues to linger around the potential of him staying at Nottingham Forest and my hunch is that if he leaves, Newcastle would be the best-placed to sign him.

“Spurs are being linked too but I’ve heard a few whispers around the Newcastle side of this that would make me side with them slightly in terms of being favourites at this early stage. He would be such an intriguing signing in that Newcastle team, a lovely player to have, making inroads behind Isak. We know the priority for Newcastle is to find an attacker for the right side of the attack but I would still keep an eye on Gibbs-White and how his situation starts to open up.”

Gordon on Guehi

Newcastle star Anthony Gordon has told his club they should consider forking out for England and Crystal Palace star Marc Guehi. “He is top. He’s such a good player,” Gordon said on TalkSport. “I was glad the nation got to see him shine on that stage because he is such a lovely guy and he deserves what is coming to him.

“I thought he was unbelievable in that game, considering his height compared to the strikers they had on. He won every header, he was aggressive, intercepting loads, and his main strength is his composure on the ball, he’s like a midfielder, so him and Stones at the back is a great partnership. I haven’t seen the Newcastle links but it goes without saying I would love him to come, as I think he’s a top, top player and he would make us a better team.”
