Families may only just be thinking about the new school term after the Easter holidays but there is plenty to look forward to this year.
With money tight for many families across the region, airlines are offering some cracking summer deals out of the North East for anyone wanting to get away over the long school break.
The long awaited summer break which is due to get underway on Friday, July 19. The 2024-25 academic year will get underway on Monday, September 2.
All prices are correct at the time of publishing and are based on trips leaving from Newcastle Airport on the first Monday of the school holidays and returning to the North East after seven nights abroad. Each listing also has flights available for £200 per person or less.

2. Ibiza

3. Dublin
A short hop across the Irish Sea is Dublin. A one-day itinerary in Ireland’s capital could include a tour of the world-famous Guinness Brewery and taking in a live music performance in Temple Bar. Flights start from £152 this summer.
4. Zadar
Further east, Zadar in Croatia rarely sees peak temperatures below 25 degrees all summer. The city is full of history while its coastal position means beaches aren't far away! Flights from the North East start at £154.
